1. Objective and significance of sheet metal CAPP research

At the same time, coupled with people for sheet metal processing parts plastic deformation mechanism has not fully mastered, process designers in sheet metal process design, often can only according to their own experience or some recognized experience formula, so sheet metal process design for the experience of process designers has a strong dependence. The accumulation of these knowledge and experience is a long process, these factors lead to sheet metal process design level is far behind its design and manufacturing level, become a restriction sheet metal production efficiency improvement of the "bottleneck".
How to realize the intelligent, standardized and practical design of sheet metal processing technology has become an urgent task for us to solve.
2. Problems solved by computer aided process of sheet metal parts:

(5) Output of process results. Automatic generation of sheet metal parts for both common equipment and CNC equipment process card.
3. Research content of sheet metal parts computer aided process
(1) The application of Solidworks software for geometric modeling of sheet metal parts. Solidworks software has modules for sheet metal design, including sheet metal elements generation, bending, EXCEL table modification, bending and non-bending feature selection, sheet metal parts two-dimensional expansion and other functions.
(2) Use the Access software in Microsoft Office to establish sheet metal process database.
(3) Use VB software for software development. Design sheet metal CAPP software modules, create, read, modify the database in VB environment.
(4) VB programming to achieve information extraction.
(5) Output of process results. The design of the output part of the process results is mainly the generation of the process flow and the formation and output of the process card documents. According to the characteristics of sheet metal processing, the general processing process of sheet metal parts is sorted out and the process database is built. At the same time, a Word template containing all parts information and process information is established. Then VB module is used to set up the extracted parts information and the process information in the database are summarized and combined to form a complete sheet metal parts processing process rules and stored in the database again. VB programming to generate good process flow and parts information output to Word template to form the process card electronic document.
Sheet metal parts computer aided overall process design
(1) Use Solidworks software to model sheet metal parts.
(2) Using VB programming to complete the Solidworks sheet metal model information extraction.
(3) Use Access to establish sheet metal parts information database and sheet metal processing technology information database.
(4) Use VB to build sheet metal CAPP system software and complete the connection with the database.
(5) Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to establish sheet metal parts processing process template.
(6) VB programming to complete database, extracted Solidworks sheet metal model information, sheet metal parts processing process integrated output sheet metal processing process card of Word template.
